Prairie High School receives award from the American Cancer Society
A special congratulations to Prairie High School in Battle Ground School District for winning the American Cancer Society’s SpeakOUT Youth Project of the year award. Prairie High Students designed and implemented a presentation to educate staff about the importance of reducing youth chewing tobacco use. Their presentation included information about reducing access, improving the implementation of existing school policies and sending a consistent school wide message that tobacco use is harmful and illegal. PREVENT! member, Cindi Schroeder coordinated the youth efforts. ESD hosted the SpeakOUT training in November where the students from Prairie were trained.
