Workshop featuring Dr. Robert Marzano encourages school staff to "Get Serious About School Reform"

Dr. Robert J. Marzano will present a workshop for educators entitled "Commitment 3: Build Background Knowledge and Academic Vocabulary" January 27, 2010 at the Comcast Arena in Everett, Washington.  

Dr. Marzano is working with Washington State ESDs for the next three years on “Getting Serious About School Reform.” This long-term professional development opportunity will be centered around Marzano’s three critical commitments and how they affect every classroom student.
 
Robert J. Marzano is cofounder and CEO of Marzano Research Laboratory in Denver, Colorado. Throughout his 40 years in the field of education, he has become a speaker, trainer, and author of more than 30 books and 150 articles on topics such as instruction, assessment, writing and implementing standards, cognition, effective leadership, and school intervention. His books include Designing & Teaching Learning Goals & Objectives, District Leadership That Works, Designing & Assessing Educational Objectives, Making Standards Useful in the Classroom, and The Art and Science of Teaching. His practical translations of the most current research and theory into classroom strategies are internationally known and widely practiced by both teachers and administrators.
