Fun and Learning Idea #2
Turkey Bowling
Gather 3 empty 2-liter plastic bottles. Draw and cut out 2 small circles for eyes, 1 triangle for beak, and 4 long ovals for the feathers on each bottle. Tape or glue shapes onto bottles and decorate your turkeys—encourage open-ended creativity. Fill bottles with water or other materials to weigh down the turkey. Tape or glue the bottle lid shut. Find a ball, line up your turkeys, and show your child how to roll the ball to hit the turkeys. Have fun!
Your child is practicing these learning goals:
- Children demonstrate strength and coordination of small motor muscles
- Children use their senses to guide motions
- Children engage in a variety of physical activities

Find Child Care
We help you find the best child care to meet your child's needs. Our phone representatives provide one-on-one, free customized referrals to licensed caregivers that meet your specific criteria. Whether looking for a preschool in a child care center, a licensed family child care provider, or after-school care, we narrow the search to save valuable time.
This referral service is funded for 25 hours per week. Calls and emails are returned within 24 business hours. Our hours of operation are:
