Clock Hour Proposal Process
New Process
Beginning July 19th, 2010, ESD 112 will be accepting Clock Hour Proposals online. If you don’t already have a registration/clock hour proposal online account, you will need to create an account to begin using the online proposal process. Note: This is the same log in that you use to register for ESD 112 courses. Each time you submit a proposal, you will use your own personal log in and password to access the proposal system.
Online Clock Hour Proposal (Please see criteria below)
- ESD 112 requires that your proposal be submitted at least 15 days prior to the first day of your inservice.
- There is a $25 application fee for each proposal (free to districts participating in the ESD 112 clock hour co-operative).
- Your proposal must be pre-approved by an administrator, curriculum coordinator, professional development manager, etc., before being submitted.
- ESD 112 and the Clock Hour Advisory Committee will review your proposal to verify that Washington State inservice/professional development requirements are met.
- Upon approval of your inservice, a confirmation email will be sent to you and a Clock Hour Approval Letter and/or Packet will be forwarded to the address indicated on your proposal.
Your Clock Hour Packet will include:
- A class attendance sheet
- Instructions
- Inservice Forms
- Program Evaluations
Of particular note ---
- If a proposal is received after the first inservice date, clock hour credit will be given only for hours accrued after the approval date.
- If attending an out-of-state conference/event, make sure that Washington State clock hours are available BEFORE the conference/event begins.
- Proposals submitted after an inservice has ended will not be accepted.
VITA
All course instructors must have a VITA on file before the clock hours will be approved. You will be able to check the list of VITA’s on file as you complete your online proposal. If you do not find the name of the instructor on the current list of VITA’s, you may submit a VITA online using the Online VITA Form link button.
NOTE: All instructors will be required to create a new online VITA the very first time they are listed as being an instructor in the new online system even if a previous copy is on file at ESD 112.
The VITA that you create will be saved indefinitely in our electronic archives.
Repeat Clock Hour Proposal
An Online Repeat Clock Hour Proposal may be used if you are repeating a course that has previously been approved for clock hours through the online proposal process. Please note that the number of clock hours, course description, and content must remain the same.
New Clock Hour Proposal
An Online Clock Hour Proposal is to be submitted for all new course offerings in accordance with the criteria set forth in WAC 180-85-030 and WAC 180-85-200.
