Why choose EXceL?

We know you have choices about which provider will be best for you and your child. We hope you choose us. EXceL can offer you and your child a convenient and effective tutoring program that has a proven track record for success.

EXceL tutors are certificated teachers, often from the child’s school.

Interested in being an EXceL Tutor or Assistant?

Tutors must be certificated teachers; assistants are highly qualified paraeducators.

Who is eligible for free tutoring service?

It’s called Supplemental Educational Services, or SES. Schools that receive Title 1 funds and have not made adequate academic progress for three years are required to offer low-income children who attend the school free tutoring services. Your local district and school are required to notify families if they qualify. Ask your child’s principal if your family qualifies for free tutoring services. The district will also provide a list of state-approved providers to the family. Parents choose which provider has the best program for their child.

Students can be enrolled only during one of two enrollment windows the district offers. Ask your school when the SES Enrollment Windows are for your child. At that time, you will let the district know which tutoring provider you want for your child. The district then lets the provider know that a family has selected them and the provider will contact the family.
