Student Behavior Overview
Providing behavioral, social and emotional support to students and their families is one of the important components of the SSHS grant. To help strengthen and support the entire family, participants can receive intensive counseling, treatment or other services from a mental health provider as well as training in effective parenting skills. Families are also provided workshops for addressing truancy. Juvenile Justice works closely with schools to transition court-involved youth back to school or gainful employment. Internships and shadowing experiences are often available to students.
